Game Modes Overview

Sorcerer Tower Defense has more distinct modes than a typical Roblox tower defense. Each mode unlocks at different account stages, drops different currencies, and demands different loadouts. This page maps every mode so you stop jumping into Culling Game with a Story roster.

Story Mode

The campaign. Unlocks the tutorial, basic systems, and the Stage 5 code gate. Once you have redeemed codes and understand placement, Story becomes a skip target. Keep it on auto-skip for the daily playtime chest.

Drops: Coins, unit experience, access to Challenge mode after completion.

Challenge Mode

Unlocks after Story completion. Offers shard income and harder wave scripts than Story. The primary source of guaranteed Reverse Energy Shards before Heaven and Earth, for accounts that cannot yet clear the full raid.

Drops: Reverse Energy Shards (smaller quantities than Heaven and Earth).

Hell Mode

The farming loop. Multiple stages, with Stage 15 as the community default. Dense material drops, Overtime Sorcerer mentions on Jujutsu High 1 Hell, and a coin income that funds Coin Summon and upgrade bills.

Hell Mode is where accounts build the economic foundation before raids. It is also where placement habits from How to Play get tested at scale.

Drops: Coins, materials, Overtime Sorcerer (Jujutsu High 1 Hell, 5% in community tables).

Endless Mode

A power-scaling survival mode. No shard faucet, no material grind — just waves that get harder until the lane collapses. The goal is to measure how far your roster can go and identify which upgrades matter most.

Endless rewards:

  • Understanding of which units scale with HP (King Of Curses for packed waves).
  • Discipline to sell farm and go full damage at high rounds.
  • Identification of stun falloff (unstunnable carries become essential past round 50).

See Endless Mode for the full guide.

Drops: Pride, leaderboard position, and coin bonuses at round milestones.

Raids

Named events with guaranteed material drops. The four active raids:

RaidPrimary dropSecondary drop
Heaven and Earth (Gojo)Reverse Energy ShardsAwakening materials
Shibuya Helipad (Toji)Sorcerer Killer line materialsCraft components
Wiped Out Shibuya (Kenjaku)Curse manipulator craftsExclusive materials
CasinoCrystalsScrolls
Sukuna Mode (Shinjuku)Sukuna-side materialsCraft components

Heaven and Earth is the first raid to tackle because Reverse Energy Shards awaken Strongest Sorcerer. The others are material loops that run on the side once awakening is complete.

Culling Game

The endgame colony mode from Update 29–31. Forty-minute-style rounds with extraction rules, fragment crafting, and the new Special Grades: Projection Sorcerer, Lightning Sorcerer, and Justice Sorcerer.

Culling Game is a parallel track to Heaven and Earth, not a replacement. Reverse Energy Shards still come from the Gojo raid. Culling Game is the path to the Naoya, Kashimo, and Higuruma units.

The Culling Game guide and Culling units page have the full rules.

Drops: Culling Points, Projection/Lightning/Justice Fragments, orbs.

The right order

  1. Story — finish tutorial, unlock codes.
  2. Redeem codes — LuckWorks, BattlepassS8, HeadOfHei from the Codes Hub.
  3. Hell Mode — build coin and material foundation on Stage 15.
  4. Heaven and Earth — farm 40 Reverse Energy Shards for Strongest Sorcerer awakening.
  5. Awaken Strongest Sorcerer — the ceiling carry.
  6. Casino and other raids — material loops.
  7. Culling Game — fragment crafts and the Naoya, Kashimo, Higuruma units.
  8. Endless — measure the ceiling, flex the awakened roster.

Do not jump to step 7 with a Story roster. The Getting Started guide is the first-hour version of this order. This page is the long-map reference.

FAQ
